PWS History

Foundation of PWS (Pearson Webb & Springbett) as a reinsurance broker who quickly established a reputation for its imaginative specialist handling of complex Facultative Business.

Established PWS East Asia in Singapore, focusing on facultative reinsurance with particular emphasis on heavy exposure risks such as Power, Telecoms & Mines.

Thompson Heath & Bond (THB) Group is a specialist and (re)insurance broking and risk management group, headquartered in London and focuses on serving its clients and markets globally. THB primarily acquired PWS for its international reinsurance connections and capability.

PWS acquired JCC Reinsurance Ltd (JCC Re)

PWS Labuan Ltd was licensed by Labuan Financial Services Authority

Cooperation agreement with Marnix Insurance Brokers Asia, Pte. Ltd Singapore


Marnix Insurance Brokers Asia, Pte Ltd, is a Reinsurance intermediary based in Singapore and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Marubeni Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo. It is a diversified broking group, handling many broad forms of Treaty and Facultative Reinsurance, including Heavy Industry, Power, Mining, Construction, Commercial, Casualty and Professional lines of business.

They have strong relationships with reputable international (re)insurance companies and underwriters, including special access to the Japanese insurance market.  They also have offices in Tokyo and in London, where they are an accredited Lloyds broker. A fusion of Japanese and European / Asian / Middle East / American markets – bring better terms and conditions with good credit rated (re)insurance companies.

Marubeni is a multi-billion dollar company and one of the largest diversified trading groups in Japan, founded in 1858. They have 132 branches and offices in 67 countries and are a huge investor in the Asia pacific region, particularly in the areas of Power, Infrastructure and Communication.
